2009 Season Under Way!
The Swimming Pool at Cottenham Village College is open for the 2009 season.
Prices held at 2007 levels:
Adults £2.50
Children and Senior Citizens £2
(The pool is run by volunteers, not a Local Authority, so does not currently qualify for funding to provide free swimming to children and senior citizens.)
The pool is heated (has been around 28 Celsius most of this season, same as an indoor pool) and open at the following times until 6 September (see later on this page for opening times after that date):
General Swim:
1:30-2:30pm and 3-4pm , every day except Wednesday
Adult Swim:
11am-12noon on Sundays
9-11am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
There is also an ‘Early Bird’ swim for adults, Wednesday & Friday 7am – 7.45am.

Remember that if you do not see a session at a time that suits you, you can get together with other swimmers and book a session of your own. Private hire of the pool (per hour) costs 15 pounds, plus 10 pounds (per hour) for each lifeguard that you need. Public hire of the pool (your fee pays for 10 swimmers of your choice, including at least one responsible adult, and the pool is also open to the public) costs only 15 pounds per hour. Email cottenhamlifeguards@hotmail.com to book, preferably at least one week in advance since bookings depend on lifeguard availability.
These hire charges are much lower than for most other pools – ideal for pool parties! Our aim is to provide affordable swimming as far as we can and let the community get maximum benefit from the pool.
