Extra Early Birds

Further to my original post on early birds sessions. After 17th June there will be early morning lane-swimming 7am to 8am on Mondays and Fridays, with one lane for recreation/leisure and one lane for fitness swimming/training.

This is in addition to the regular old-favourites the Tuesday and Thursday early bird slots.

First swimming of the season began June 9, pool was beautiful and clear blue, and at a lovely 28 Celsius, perfect for that pre-commute swim!

More early weekday sessions, preferably 7:00-8:00 would good.

Note from Swimming Pool Association Chairman:

There are just not enough people swimming at the Monday and Friday 7am sessions to justify continuing these sessions during the school holidays. The pool is losing a huge amount of money because too few people are swimming in _all_ the sessions, and since the Monday and Friday 7am sessions are very poorly attended they will need to stop unless more people swim at these times. (If there are fewer than 8 people swimming at one of these sessions then the pool is probably making a loss; if there are fewer then 6 people swimming then it is _definitely_ making a loss.)

Tuesday and Thursday 7am sessions are working really well though! Tuesday and Thursday 7am sessions will definitely continue for the whole season.

If you want the pool open at more times you can use ‘Public Hire’ - up to 10 people can swim for £1.50 each if you book and pay a week in advance, and name a couple of responsible adults who’ll be swimming or spectating. See my post on ‘Public Hire’…
