An update to the information: there may be a way for a volunteer-run pool to apply for funds to support free swimming for Senior Citizens and young swimmers.

I’m so disappointed to be missing out on the last remaining swim sessions, can I hire under the public hire sessions, accepting risk for myself.

Evening swimming is now scheduled for Thursdays during August, 7-8pm. Please use public hire if you would like other days or times.

the afternoon weekday sessions are set at a time that suits young people swimming after school – like most sessions, they are busy when the weather is hot and quieter otherwise.

We cannot afford to run swimming sessions that have very few swimmers, and when we have responded to requests for extra evening swims or early-morning lane-swims in the past, these sessions have run at a significant loss and often had no swimmers at all.

If there is a large number of expressions of interest then we will run an evening swim during August (probably 7-8pm on Thursdays), lifeguard availability and private hire bookings permitting.

The way to get the pool open at a time you want (and get the cheapest possible swimming) is to use public hire: only 15 pounds per hour for up to ten named swimmers, as long as you book a week or two in advance so we can advertise the session.

How busy is the 15-17:30 session?
I have been cycling into Cambridge while the weather is good and would quite like to go for a swim when I get back.
Would 16-18:30 be more popular and enable those of us that work to get a dip?
